WHAT IS BRUNEBEASTS?

"Brunebeasts" is my Animation Direction master project. It is planned to be an anthology miniseries with 7 episodes that are around 1-2 minutes long each.

The simplified lineless style formed in my spare time around 2017-2019. I have been sharing drawings and short comics of those weird cartoony creatures online. One anonymous commenter referred to them as "Brunebeasts" once (short for Bruneburg beasts). And the name has stuck since.

The idea of a miniseries about some of these beasts was originally pitched in 2020 and then again in 2021, where further development started. The first year of development had been heavily held back by the production and postprouction of "Entbandung". And now that "Entbandung" is finally done, I expect work on "Brunebeasts" to speed up again. Some of the episodes are in a storyboard or animatic stage, while some of the others are already being animated.

Some of the "Brunebeasts" episodes will be adaptations of some of my short comics. Such as "a short story about rocks", and maybe "a short story about inspiration, regret and love".
