About 30 seconds long! Should give an idea what I'm about lately.
My bachelor graduation film "Entbandung" (also known as "Unscarfed") is in its film festival run and has recently won its fifth award. It is part of a long-year fantasy worldbuilding project.
What you see here is my contribution to the "Animated Loops" Art Exhibit that was in the Library Stuttgart from the end of March to May20th 2023.
I love working with both heavy and joyful themes. This leads to a range of clashing interests and art styles.
WHAT'S NEXT?
During the years that I've been making my horror film "Entbandung" the heavy side of my work had been at the center of my life. In my spare time I would create strange silly creatures, to cultivate a balance.
These weird little beasts make up my next project that I currently work on. A project that is pretty much the opposite of "Entbandung".
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR THE WORLD OF ENTBANDUNG?
I'll still be working on "Riesenlied" (the setting of "Entbandung" and still feel very excited about it. But it will take a back seat and become more of a hobby again.
I don't see myself making another shortfilm set in that world anytime soon. Some of the things about "Riesenlied" that I love working with the most are the worldbuilding, the details of those fantasy places and how they change throughout the years. Things that can be very difficult to convey in a short span of time. After years of making "Entbandung" I feel that the shortfilm format might not be the best match for this project. But I'd love to try make a graphic novel out of the setting at some point in my life.
WHAT ELSE?
I don't know. But here is a silly video of me laughing at my own drawings if that's what your day needs to have today.
You have scrolled down this entire page. So here's a reminder beast! Stay safe.
